Chronic Femme Needing Some Online Support
I’m a chronically ill/disabled femme queer & trans person. I make my livelihood working from home for a very small nonprofit publishing company. I’ve been sick & injured with various things for the past 9 years, and this is the first time that I’ve had a job that allows me to both survive economically & take care of my health.
Here’s where you come in:
As Etruscan Press runs only on donations & grant money, my job is not continually guaranteed. I want to make sure that I’m doing the best I can, so every time the budget is reconsidered my job is still considered necessary. Part of my job is managing the Etruscan Press social media. I’ve been getting great response on both twitter & facebook, but Tumblr has been very challenging. Part of this is because we are less than 10 years old & only put out 6 books a year that are largely written by middle-aged academics. It’s hard to draw in the active tumblr crowd.
I would love it if more people would submit, ask, or even follow etruscanpress.tumblr.com. I post news & pieces about our authors, but I also post literature & art that is interesting to me. I want to know what you’re reading, what you’re writing, creating, drawing, etc. What are you grappling with in literature now? What do you want to see more of? What is inspiring to you?
Help me make this social media site more radical, interesting, and engaging. Also give me more work to do :)
Hey folks! This is my awesome and rad partner. He is incredible and hard working and this job has been really beneficial for him because he can support himself without compromising his health. If you have a sec and care to help out a chronically ill queer person, it’ll make a big difference for them! Thanks!
